Apple Bottom goes camping!

Look what we did! We went on our first annual Berryland camping trip! We are going to make it happen every year in August from here on out. Because we love the Berrymans! That was who we went camping with, hence the Berryland...I probably could've mentioned that earlier. The Berrymans consist of Jessica, Cy, and Finnley. They are nothing but FUN! We went out to Baker Lake, and it was gorgeous, even though it rained on us the very last day. You'll soon learn that it ain't camping in the northwest if it doesn't rain a little.

I don't have pictures yet, but we went canoeing. You, Dad, Panda, and I all squeezed into a very unstable red canoe and paddled our way to the best view of Mt. Baker. While we were out there in the middle of the lake I was telling your dad how we don't have any surprises left, or big moments to announce to each other...but I was so wrong. Sure we've gotten the proposals, and weddings, and house buying, and the big 'we're pregnant' stuff done...but you are going to be the biggest surprise yet. And the amount we are going to grow and change because of you will be a surprise, and who you are and will be is going to be a surprise, and just how much we'll love you I'm sure will take us by surprise. So thank you baby girl, for being our constant surprise in life, and for reminding me that life is always filled with surprises no matter how routine things get. And look at your dad there, how could I ever think that that amazing man won't surprise me over and over again for the rest of my life? Boy oh boy...was I wrong out there on that lake.

See you soon applesauce, xoxo

A room of one's own.

Baby girl apple bottom!!! Hi! I know we say hello all day, everyday, to you in the real world but it's been awhile in blogland. And my how you've grown! At my 27 week appointment my uterus was measuring 29 weeks...does this mean you'll make an early appearance? Maybe on my birthday!?!? Or maybe, you just like having the extra space to wiggle around. You have eyelashes! And baby fat! And you are moving your way up to a black belt in karate. You are also practicing flipping, and rolling, and jabbing, and tap dancing, and hiccuping. In other words you are still a very active little apple baby.

We are officially in our last trimester, can you believe it? You can? Yeah, me too. Your dad and I are ready...emotionally...not so much spatially. Your room is in a bit of a transition. But oh boy, we've had so much help getting it ready. Dad is in there every day he can be, and this last week your aunty austy, uncle hooty, and uncle greggy all came up to help. They got doors painted, and drywall hung, and baseboards in, and I did my part by feeding everyone and making them laugh by showing them my alien belly button! I also painted a window and a door, so it's not like I was eating bon bons in the hot tub all day. This is our album cover photo shoot from inside your room! I've told you before, you are in for a funny ride when you get here with this goofy bunch. We were a little pooped, a little overwhelmed, and a lot proud by the end of the day. And we hated to see the family go. They love you so much, and everyone got to feel you wiggle! Even Panda bear got a little nuzzle in while you were dancing. All in all...it was a good way to start the last bit of this crazy pregnancy ride. And hopefully we'll get it all done in time for your big arrival...so don't arrive too early ok little honeycrisp?

See you soon, xoxo.

The way that you love me...

I'm introducing you to some of my favorite music, when I was ten. Your dad really hates it, so if you like it we can rock out to Paula Abdul without him. It can be our thing...

We went to a wedding last night and danced like crazy! Well, I did the best I could without falling over. You make a great dance partner apple girl! And all the firefighters thought so too, they all tried to make new dance moves that incorporated you. You even kicked one of them!
Today we are going to the fair!!! Funnel cakes and corn dogs here we come...and the roosters!!! And goats!!! And my favorite...the pigs!!! No rides for me this time around, we'll have to wait until you are older for that!

I didn't get any pictures from the wedding, so that's a pic from a wedding your dad played for a couple days ago. He played a song last night as well...I hope you like the pipes, we're going to have to get you some earplugs to protect yr little eardrums when you get here!

See you soon apple head doll! Xoxo

Baby, baby, you put my heart in motion...

BABY GIRL!!!

Sometimes I get so freaking excited I walk around the house yelling to yr Dad that "WE ARE HAVING A BAYBAY!" It is possible that this is my defense mechanism so I don't completely lose my cool over the fact that WE ARE HAVING A BAYBAY! Mostly it's a little of both...genuine excitement and genuine fear. But the genuine excitement ALWAYS WINS. Woah. Today in the shower I had one of these moments, so I wrote you a song. It's a real good song. I hope you are enjoying it! Good thing you are too little to know that yr mommy is a reallllly bad singer! I hope you never know that...so I can just keep singing to you until yr 90 years old!

Daddy is in the nursery right now (11pm on a work night!) caulking the windows. Labor does not only apply to the way in which you will enter this world...it also applies to how he is expressing his love before you arrive. This nursery space is his labor of love. WOAH. I am cheeeezing it up today. Whew!

Guess what? Your uncles and your aunties are THROWING YOU PARTIES! Lucky little apple face. I will dedicate a WHOLE post to them soon. I am AMPED up right now, hence all the YELLING!!!! It could be because I don't have gestational diabetes, and I am not anemic, and I'm feeling pretty good, and you are still such a crazy wiggle monster. You took the doctor by the surprise yesterday when he was trying to hear your little heartbeat. He was all "woah, she is moving A LOT." Finally you stopped just long enough for us to hear that your heart is beating as it should!

I've got to try to calm down and go to sleep...can't wait to meet you our little fruit roll up!

xoxo

She dreams in color, she dreams in red.

25 weeks...if we could see you in color right now we'd know if you were a redhead or not! But we can't so we'll just have to keep dreaming about the day we get to see you...it's a lovely dream, so I don't mind!
